About the role
- Finance employees receive, account for, monitor, and design internal controls to safeguard sacred funds for the Church's religious mission
- Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements and budgets using various financial data sources
- Prepare management reports, create reports/charts/graphs, and investigate financial alternatives
- Reconcile appropriation and cash flow budgets to the general ledger and ensure correct coding and GAAP compliance
- Conduct analytical reviews, identify financial trends and potential areas of concern, and recommend financial adjustments
- Perform on-site internal control reviews and review documents related to budget appropriation or transfers
- Conduct cost studies, overhead analyses, cost justifications, and savings analyses for equipment and data processing hardware
- Prepare and document financial procedures, train personnel, and provide functional advice to less-experienced financial analysts
- Collaborate with division managers to resolve financial discrepancies
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management
- Possess five to eight years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or business management
- CMA, CPA, or MBA credentials are preferred
- Demonstrate understanding of accounting principles and Church accounting systems
- Operate a personal computer with proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software
- Be capable of learning and adapting to new software tools
- Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
