Provide approval of project invoices, purchase requisitions, and purchase orders.
Account for facility projects in domestic and international areas.
Monitor and correct project ledgers and exception reports.
Perform financial reviews of completed projects.
Reconcile data from accounting systems and clear exceptions.
Assist in ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, international accounting standards, and Church financial standards and procedures.
Use electronic technology to extract data, analyze data, and create queries to extract system data.
Provide coaching, training, and support to lower-level employees, departments, and areas.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving accounting and related technology issues that arise.
Assist in improving accounting and work processes by identifying, proposing, and implementing solutions using electronic technology.
Must be proactive and willing to learn new skills.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business management, or related field.
Four or more years of professional experience in accounting, finance, auditing, business management, or related field. (Information systems experience is helpful.)
Basic understanding of GAAP and a working knowledge of accounting principles.
Systems skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Intermediate Excel skills and a desire and aptitude to improve these skills.
A desire and aptitude to learn and apply electronic technology to accounting processes and process improvements.
Proficient at speaking, reading, and writing in English with the ability to work effectively with others. Spanish language skills are beneficial.
