About the role
- Manage daily activities of new and existing financial systems
- Develop and maintain financial systems for General and Cost Accounting
- Evaluate system adequacy and implement improvements
- Analyze problems for consistency and accuracy in financial systems
- Ensure proper inventory valuation and asset safeguarding
- Provide training on transactions and procedures
- Compute and analyze manufacturing variances
- Evaluate existing inventory and production procedures
- Develop and maintain master data for standard costs
- Analyze accounting data for comparisons to other periods
- Assist department managers with budget preparation
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- SAP experience preferred
- An advanced degree or certification (MBA, CCE, CMA, CPA) beneficial
- Demonstrated technical knowledge of accounting requirements from regulatory agencies like FASB, IRS, and SEC
- In depth knowledge of Cost Accounting
- Demonstrated analytical skills
- Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications
- Advanced Excel skills
- Prior ERP System experience, SAP strongly preferred
- Understanding of journal entries and transactions
