About the role

  • Independently manage a portfolio of battery energy storage projects from submission through to Ready-to-Build (RTB) status
  • Coordinate and actively advance all permitting processes, in particular building permit procedures, privileged projects under Section 35, and zoning / land-use plan procedures (if required)
  • Serve as the primary contact for municipalities, permitting and building authorities, and external assessors, planners and consultants
  • Prepare, submit and proactively follow up on all permit-related documentation
  • Respond to authorities' inquiries and conditions and ensure timely implementation of requirements
  • Track milestones, deadlines and risks across multiple concurrent projects
  • Proactively identify permitting bottlenecks and develop pragmatic solutions
  • Represent projects in meetings with authorities and municipalities as needed

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in project development in the renewable energy sector
  • Practical experience managing projects through German permitting and approval procedures
  • Experience with battery energy storage systems (BESS) and/or solar projects
  • Solid understanding of building permit procedures and collaboration with authorities
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and drive them forward consistently
  • Very good written and spoken German for working with municipalities and authorities
