About the role

  • Collaborate with Engineering Manager, Sales, Service, Marketing and Operations to ensure the “Voice of the Customer” is integral to the development of design specifications for new products and modifications to existing products
  • Assume total product ownership for the product group
  • Work together with the engineering systems, standards and conformance groups to ensure that the relevant requirements are met
  • Identify and implement cost effective design and technology alternatives to resolve field issues
  • Ensure appropriate maintenance and ongoing improvements to current models
  • Provide the dealer networks with the required support and service that they require to ensure that they are completely satisfied with our product
  • Ensure use of measurable standards and performance for product safety, function, reliability and serviceability
  • Mentor, coach and develop engineering talent
  • Drive standardization of components and sub-assemblies across all product groups where possible
  • Flexible in terms of hours worked and travel on short notice when and where necessary

Requirements

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Engineering
  • Effective leadership in both strategic and tactical decision making
  • A considerable track record in the design, development and successful launch to market of mobile equipment
  • Competent user of 3D Solid Modeling CAD, ideally Pro-Engineer
  • Familiarity with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
  • Good technical expertise in mechanical and hydraulic systems
  • Good understanding of the various applications that the equipment can operate in along with an appreciation for the expected performance of the machines
  • Creativity and innovative thinking
  • Good English communication skill, both written and spoken
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Good presentation and interpersonal skills
