About the role

  • Own and execute Tenneco’s global social media and external communications, tightly aligned to business priorities and leadership direction
  • Work closely with the Corporate Communications team to deliver communications that support real business needs and outcomes
  • Translate The Tenneco Way into our external voice, ensuring how we communicate reflects how we operate—focused, disciplined, and execution-driven
  • Operate in a high-visibility, high-trust role, supporting communications tied to senior leadership, enterprise initiatives, and critical moments
  • Roll up sleeves to develop and deliver content—including written posts, visual assets, and short-form video—often at pace and with limited lead time
  • Support PR and media relations efforts, including message development, press materials, and coordination on media-facing moments as needed
  • Partner on external website development, managing the end-to-end process for press releases and other content, including drafting, internal review, approvals, and publication
  • Drive integrated communication plans around major announcements, campaigns, and milestones
  • Partner closely with Communications, HR, Legal, Finance, and regional teams to ensure alignment, accuracy, and timely execution
  • Manage multiple workstreams in a fast-moving environment, balancing urgency with quality and sound judgment
  • Bring forward ideas, challenge the status quo, and help raise the bar for how Communications delivers across the enterprise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in corporate communications or social media leadership, supporting enterprise priorities within a global, matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and regions to deliver clear, compelling communications that support business execution
  • Experience developing and delivering integrated external communication plans and campaigns, aligned with internal communications and executed in close partnership with the broader team
  • Proven track record supporting organizational change and leadership priorities through disciplined, well-executed communications
  • Experience analyzing communication effectiveness and using insights to continuously improve content, channels, and impact
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, high-visibility environments, building trust and alignment with key stakeholders
  • Experience supporting or leading high-visibility events and leadership moments, including town halls and leadership meetings
  • Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to tailor tone and content by platform and audience, and an understanding of how earned media and social channels work together
  • Hands-on PR and media relations experience, including shaping message discipline and coordinating media-facing moments
  • Strong understanding of social platform dynamics, including algorithms, engagement signals, formats, and trends.
