Security Engineer

• Own the intake, prioritization, and completion of all inbound customer security questionnaires, RFPs, and due diligence requests including SIG, CAIQ, and custom enterprise questionnaires with a commitment to accuracy, thoroughness, and turnaround time.
• Serve as the primary customer-facing representative for security and compliance, leading calls and meetings with enterprise customers, prospects, and their security or procurement teams.
• Build and maintain a comprehensive, evergreen response library for common security and compliance questions, reducing duplication of effort and ensuring consistency across all customer engagements.
• Build and maintain automations to continuously validate the organization's compliance posture across key frameworks including SOC2 Type II, ISO 27001, and HIPAA, coordinating evidence collection, managing external auditor relationships, and driving readiness for annual assessments.
• Build dashboards and reporting pipelines that provide leadership with real-time visibility into compliance posture, open risks, and program health.
• Design and automate the third-party risk assessment process, including vendor tiering logic, questionnaire workflows, and continuous monitoring for critical vendors.
• Perform ongoing risk assessments and maintain a risk register that reflects the current threat and compliance landscape, escalating material findings to leadership with clear remediation recommendations.
• Conduct third-party vendor risk assessments, including use case-specific risk analysis, ongoing tiering and monitoring, and implementation recommendations.
• Author, maintain, and operationalize security policies and procedures; track employee acknowledgments and manage exceptions through to resolution.
• Coordinate and participate in customer security review meetings, including onsite or virtual sessions with enterprise security, legal, and procurement stakeholders.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Legal, and Product to gather documentation, validate control descriptions, and resolve compliance gaps surfaced through customer inquiries.

• Lead the design and implementation of important server features, from proposal through rollout.
• Help set technical direction for one or more areas of the OSS Server team.
• Work on distributed systems problems across areas such as task matching, scheduling, workflow execution, visibility, quotas, throttling, persistence, developer primitives, and workflow lifecycle features.

• The Solutions Architect is Temporal’s primary customer-facing technical leader within the Enterprise team (East).
• Work directly with prospects and customers, guiding teams through technical evaluation, architecture, and implementation considerations.

• Partner closely with Account Executives to support both land and expand motions.
• Own key technical relationships and help position Temporal against alternative technologies and architectural patterns.

• Develop observability solutions (Grafana, Prometheus), improve networking (load balancing, DNS, ingress/egress), and automate infrastructure operations (Terraform, IaC) to help customers run Temporal efficiently at scale.
• Independently drive technical solutions, whether debugging complex production issues or designing infrastructure best practices, with support from seasoned engineers and mentors.

Senior Developer Success Engineer

• Build and improve core parts of Temporal Cloud's identity platform — authentication (OAuth 2.0/OIDC, SAML), authorization (RBAC and policy-based access), and workload identity — so customers and workloads can authenticate securely
• Help keep the auth path fast and reliable to meet Temporal Cloud's SLOs through caching, token handling, and revocation strategies
• Integrate with enterprise identity providers (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace) and support user provisioning (SCIM), with attention to common identity threats such as token replay and privilege escalation
• Partner with Security, Product, and platform teams to ship secure-by-default patterns and contribute to IAM lifecycle and audit practices
• Write clear architecture and design docs, and contribute to the team's technical direction

Senior Software Engineer, Cloud Identity

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate security principles into the design and architecture of cloud infrastructure across multiple clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure, and others).
• Secure Temporal's core platform components, including the workflow engine, task queue architecture, and worker execution model - identifying attack surfaces unique to durable, stateful distributed systems.
• Conduct threat modeling and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors across our multi-cloud environment, with particular focus on workflow execution, task queue integrity, and client-server trust boundaries.
• Secure Temporal's gRPC-based communication layer, including mTLS certificate management, service mesh configuration, and API authentication.
• Manage cloud security posture using tools such as Wiz, including misconfiguration detection, compliance monitoring, and remediation across all three cloud providers.
• Stay current on emerging cloud security standards and guidance (e.g. CSA Cloud Controls Matrix, CIS Benchmarks) and translate these into actionable internal policy.
• Able to participate in on-call rotation.

Staff Cloud Security Engineer

• Design and build Temporal Cloud's identity platform end-to-end — authentication (OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML, token exchange), authorization (RBAC/ReBAC/policy engines), and workload identity federation — so customers and workloads authenticate without long-lived secrets
• Scale the auth hot path to meet Temporal Cloud's SLOs: in-memory auth bundles, JWKS caching, decision caching, and revocation strategies that keep latency low and eliminate single points of failure
• Integrate with enterprise IdPs (Okta, Entra ID, Google Workspace, SAML/OIDC), own SCIM 2.0 provisioning, and threat-model identity flows against token replay, confused deputy, scope escalation, and mix-up attacks
• Partner with Security, Product, and platform teams to ship secure-by-default patterns, define IAM lifecycle and audit strategies, and shape the technical roadmap by tracking emerging standards (IETF OAuth WG, OpenID Foundation)
• Mentor engineers, maintain clear architecture docs, and engage directly with customers to understand requirements and unblock adoption
