About the role
- Performs maintenance and repair work on building mechanical systems.
- Carries out preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs on all components related to buildings' electrical and mechanical systems to ensure greater reliability and efficiency.
- Analyzes mechanical systems and implements modifications with approval from their supervisor.
- Collaborates with their supervisor to analyze mechanical work to be performed on buildings.
- Participates in maintaining the inventory of materials essential for mechanical maintenance and repair.
- May make certain material purchases by preparing local purchase orders.
- Prepares a preliminary estimate of repair work required following breakdowns or preventive maintenance.
- Occasionally supervises certain contractor work.
- Repairs, maintains, and performs periodic inspections on fire detection and suppression systems.
- Maintains and consistently develops a customer service attitude by establishing positive and professional relationships.
Requirements
- DEC (Diplôme d'études collégiales) with 2 years of experience
- DEP (Diplôme d'études professionnelles) with 4 years of experience
- Training must be in one of the following fields: Electricity, Building Mechanics
- Provincial Class 5 driver's license
- Knowledge: Maintenance of equipment - ventilation, Hydraulic equipment, Building mechanics, Building plumbing, Building electrical systems, Reading plans
- Skills: Visual acuity and color discrimination, Use of testing and measuring devices, Lifting and carrying heavy loads, Working at heights, Physical fitness to sustain physical effort, Standing for approximately 75% of the time
