About the role

  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with Group & Technical Product Owners to align on evolving priorities, expectations, and strategic outcomes
  • Champion effective cybersecurity communication across internal business units, fostering a culture of security awareness and collaboration
  • Stay actively involved in mission-critical security assessments, ensuring alignment with enterprise security standards and risk posture
  • Identify and eliminate barriers that impede streamlined cybersecurity assessments, driving continuous improvement in assessment processes
  • Lead multi-service security engagements, acting as the single point of contact from initiation through to successful completion
  • Interpret residual security risks and recommend appropriate treatments based on industry best practices and Telstra’s risk framework
  • Collaborate with Risk peers to conduct additional Security Risk Assurance assessments for engagements meeting defined criteria prior to Operational Security Compliance reviews
  • Provide strategic advice on people, process, and technology security controls across missions, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide security objectives

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant experience in: Cybersecurity operations and risk management
  • Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant experience in: Business process reengineering
  • Minimum 5 years of recent, relevant experience in: Operational process development and continuous improvement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and promote a positive, enterprise-wide security culture
  • Proven project management, multitasking, and organizational skills
  • High-level theoretical and practical knowledge of security principles, frameworks, and technologies
  • Solid understanding of current trends in the cybersecurity threat landscape
  • Relevant university-level qualification in cybersecurity, information technology, or a related field
  • Desirable certifications: CompTIA Security+; (ISC)² SSCP; ISACA Cybersecurity Fundamentals; GIAC GSEC; Microsoft SC-900; Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate
  • Candidates will undergo a background check as part of the hiring process
