About the role
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of the Bandwidth Manager
- Lead engineering team responsible for building the Bandwidth Manager, a critical component of the Telesat Lightspeed SDN control plane
- Drive integration of the Bandwidth Manager with OSS, orchestration platforms, telemetry frameworks, and BSS environments
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless interoperability and alignment with broader SDN architecture goals
- Champion agile development practices, continuous improvement, and high-quality software delivery
- Provide technical guidance and strategic direction to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance of the solution
- Shape a solution that enables customers to schedule and manage bandwidth pools across geographic regions, ensuring compliance with service-level commitments and dynamic resource adjustment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 12+ years of experience in software development (144+ months), ideally in SDN control planes
- Proven expertise in Agile SAFe, software, and distributed systems
- Strong understanding of OSS/BSS systems, orchestration, and telemetry integration
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects and deliver results in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- A team-first mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-solving
- Must be able to work in Canada and obtain clearance under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP)
