About the role

  • The role of this candidate is responsible for Telesat’s regulatory engagement in the Asia Pacific region, with the aim to facilitate, obtain and protect market access and spectrum rights for Telesat’s satellites and services.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, law, public policy or any relevant technical subject
  • Masters degree is an asset
  • At least 5 years’ experience in any of the following:
  • Government Relations, Public Policy and Advocacy, Market Access for Satellite Communications, Domestic or Regional Regulatory Framework/Forums and the Application of the ITU Radio Regulations.
  • Strong technical, regulatory research and analysis skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English and (ideally) a second language
  • Experience as company lead representative in international forums
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment
  • Ability to exercise judgment and make sound decisions to drive processes to conclusion
  • Self-starter with good organizational skills and the ability to work independently
  • Effective management of multiple projects simultaneously
