💰 $145,000 - $180,000 per year
About the role
- Lead large, complex projects spanning multiple disciplines and deliver projects on time and on budget
- Provide detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations and report information to the client
- Delegate work effectively, promote teamwork, and mentor less senior staff
- Develop and maintain client relationships that lead to repeat business; solicit client feedback
- Collaborate with Marketing on pursuit and interview process; lead fee development and negotiations
- Participate in TEECOMuniversity in-house training: mentor junior designers, develop course content, and provide feedback
- Conduct client meetings and programming sessions to develop system parameters and design criteria
- Delegate mark-ups for Revit models and AutoCAD drawings; delegate drawings, specifications, and design calculations
- Research technical product information and conduct job site inspections to determine existing conditions
- Design, coordinate, and engineer systems per discipline (telecom, security, network, audiovisual, acoustics, Wi-Fi)
- Track decisions, budgets, and schedule for mid to large-size projects; manage client interface with architects, integrators, and contractors
- Conduct and/or delegate programming, design, construction, and closeout phases; prepare schedules and identify tasks for each phase
- Provide support to the team, develop tools, improve processes, and share technical knowledge
- Ensure timesheets and expense reports are accurate and up-to-date; achieve billed revenue targets and meet project budgets
Requirements
- BS in Engineering (electrical preferred) or equivalent experience
- Minimum of eight years of discipline (telecom/structured cabling) design for facilities construction projects
- Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure, cabling, audiovisual, security, acoustics, and wired and wireless networks
- Delivery of system designs using an engineering approach to produce construction documents
- Experience on large and complex construction projects ($500,000+ TEECOM fee)
- Autodesk (AutoCAD, Revit) proficiency
- AutoCAD MEP, Revit, Navisworks, Bluebeam Studio
- Microsoft Office 365 Suite and G Suite
- Experience with Bluebeam Studio and Bluebeam Studio/Bluebeam Studio
- Strong organization, documentation, communication, teamwork, problem solving, negotiation, emotional intelligence, mentorship, and management skills
- Experience leading and delegating technical staff and mentoring junior designers
- Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and project financial performance
- EIT is a plus
- CDT
- RCDD
- PE is a plus
- PMP is a plus
