About the role

  • Contribute to system integration projects in the railway environment, particularly in the areas of signalling and safety systems, telecommunications, train control and adjacent IT/ICT systems
  • Analyse and integrate existing rail systems as well as new systems within complex system landscapes
  • Technical coordination and alignment of subsystems and interfaces (e.g., between interlockings, ETCS components, operations control systems, telecommunications and IT systems)
  • Support in requirements engineering with a focus on system and interface requirements
  • Participate in system, integration and acceptance testing including preparation, execution and documentation
  • Support migrations, upgrades and system changes during live railway operations
  • Work closely with clients (e.g., infrastructure operators), system manufacturers, suppliers, authorities and internal project teams
  • Produce technical documentation (analyses, integration concepts, interface descriptions, test documentation, risk assessments)
  • Provide technical support to project and subproject managers in customer projects

Requirements

  • Completed technical education (FH/HTL/university) with a focus on electrical engineering, communications engineering, railway engineering, information technology, computer science or a comparable field
  • Ideally, initial experience in railway projects, especially in signalling and safety technology or telecommunications/IT
  • Structured, analytical working style and a strong systems understanding
  • Excellent communication skills when dealing with customers, partners and project teams
  • Independent and responsible approach to work
  • Business-fluent German and good English skills, both written and spoken
  • Willingness to travel for project-related assignments
