About the role

  • Directly support new product development project teams and other strategic initiatives (such as strategic sourcing, product redesign, new tooling, process improvements, manufacturing process transfers, and adjustments to the supply chain)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across the business unit such as project management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, engineering, quality, operations, and product management to ensure achievement of all assigned project deliverables on schedule
  • Support and influence supplier selection ensuring strategic alignment with the commodity team strategies, and compliance with business processes, quality, and legal requirements
  • Perform risk analysis, quote analysis, and supplier analysis to make award determinations and secure approval through the sourcing council
  • Work with the regional Strategic Sourcing Managers, Global Commodity Managers, and business units to issue RFQ's, negotiate prices, and award new business within assigned category
  • Responsible to achieve KPI’s including launch on time, launch on cost, launch on quality, NPD cycle time, and no missed project gates due to function

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Procurement, or Engineering related field
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain roles with a preference for experience in new product development or product launch activities
  • Additionally, experience in category management, strategic sourcing, purchasing management, or project management is desirable
  • Procurement analytical skills in: Risk analysis, Cost Analysis, RFQ Analysis, Fact-Based Negotiations, LPP analysis, Currency and Material analysis, Market analysis, Part Cost Breakdown analysis, etc.
  • Experience in stamping, machining, plating, molding, electronics, metals, or resins markets is a plus
  • Self-starter with project management experience and the ability to manage multiple concurrent NPD projects with varying timelines to drive action items and results
  • Very Strong analytical and computer-skills; experience in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP procurement applications and Microsoft Office/Teams
  • Strong communication and presentation skills at all levels
  • Strong decision-making skills and critical thinking
  • Strong interpersonal and “soft skills”
