About the role
- Prepare and submit sales tax filings monthly, ensuring data accuracy and compatibility with tax software
- Monitor clients' tax collection variances and resolve issues with clients
- Provide assistance to resolve time-critical issues, including working with state tax authorities
- Assist with special client projects: late/amended returns, audits, updating company information with states
- Update and improve internal documentation, workflows, and filing/account management processes
- Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients and ensure consistent communication
- Continue learning sales tax technical skills and complete required training (Sales Tax Institute webinars)
- Work remotely with core hours 8:30 PM - 1:30 AM PHT; candidates sought in Luzon, Cebu City, Davao City, Iloilo City (Philippines)
Requirements
- 2+ Years of Accounting or Audit Experience
- Multi-client management experience
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Bonus: US tax knowledge and/or CPA credential
- Self-starter, willing to learn on the job
- High-speed and reliable home internet
- Detail-oriented with strong data analysis skills
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities
- Team player and effective communicator in English (written, video, phone)
- Ability to follow rules/processes while thinking creatively when needed
- Comfortable challenging the status quo and advocating for clients and team
- Must arrange reference calls with former managers as final hiring step
