Sales Tax Consultant

• Define and drive the strategic goals of the Onboarding and Audit & VDA teams in alignment with TaxValet’s long-term direction.
• Develop and coach leaders across Onboarding and Audit & VDA, ensuring they have the support, tools, and training needed to lead confidently.
• Provide strategic tax leadership by helping teams identify risk areas, ask smart questions, and make strong decisions in complex or high-stakes situations.
• Support teams in identifying operational issues, pain points, and bottlenecks, and designing practical solutions.
• Partner across operational teams, Tech & Innovation, and Sales & Marketing to improve handoffs, strengthen communication, and support consistent tax strategy positioning throughout the client lifecycle.

Director of Tax Strategy

Project Manager

• Own the onboarding process from client sign-up through completion. Build and manage onboarding timelines, track dependencies, and proactively remove blockers to keep projects moving forward. Hold both clients and internal teams accountable through clear expectations and steady, professional follow-up.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during onboarding. Translate complex sales tax and data concepts into simple, actionable explanations. Set clear expectations, provide guidance, and help clients feel supported, informed, and confident throughout the process.
• Coordinate closely with internal teams (including tax settings, filing, etc.) to ensure dependencies are understood, work is sequenced correctly, and handoffs happen on time. Act as the central source of truth for onboarding status and next steps.
• Analyze large and often complex transaction datasets using Excel to understand how client data flows through systems. Create clear, practical mapping notes that explain how the client’s transactions should be categorized for tax collection and filing. Partner with internal teams to apply those mappings in our tools, and identify gaps or inconsistencies in the data so they can be resolved quickly.
• Interpret sales tax-related findings and explain their implications to clients from a big-picture, consultative perspective. While you will not perform nexus analyses, you will help clients understand results, obligations, and decisions in partnership with other teams.
• Continuously look for ways to improve the onboarding experience and internal workflows. Contribute ideas, document learnings, and help evolve processes so onboarding becomes smoother, faster, and more scalable over time.

Client Onboarding Project Manager

• The purpose of the US Tax Advisory Specialist is to serve as the principal contact for existing client accounts in the following areas: annual nexus reviews, monthly economic nexus reviews, offboarding, use tax, resale certificates and state nexus questionnaires.
• You will focus on conducting all nexus reviews, addressing nexus-related questions, and meeting and/or working directly with existing clients to explain nexus reviews and help address any nexus-related concerns that arise and ensure your clients are having a wonderful time working with you.
• You will work directly with other TaxValet employees, specifically the Client Tax Specialist Team, Onboarding Team and Filing Team, to ensure existing clients continue to be set-up and ready for the sales tax filing process.

US Tax Advisory Specialist

Director of Tech and Innovation

• Define and drive the strategic goals of the Tech & Innovation Team in alignment with the department and company’s future direction. Develop and maintain a comprehensive long-term roadmap for this team’s operations.
• Develop Tech & Innovation Team members. Ensure adequate learning opportunities for all staff related to current innovative trends and emerging technologies, and other areas of interest.
• Support this team in identifying operational issues, pain points and bottlenecks, and designing practical solutions. Focus on continuous process improvement, technology adoption across the organization, and team development initiatives to ensure the department remains ahead of innovative trends, and evolving client and employee needs.
• Evaluate, oversee, and evolve the work of our IT managed service provider. Manage technology vendors and software contracts. Ensure systems meet security and compliance requirements. Handle major or significant escalated technology issues with a focus on training and supporting the team in resolving these challenges.
• Support adoption of new tools and processes across teams. Establish healthy communication channels across teams, encouraging collaboration where necessary to achieve company goals.
