Act as Business Operations Site Reliability Engineer responsible for production readiness stewardship for Mastercard products.
Ensure platform stability and health; foster developer run ownership and empower developers to build resilient products.
Support developers during the application build phase in software run principles including operational design, automation, capacity planning, and monitoring.
Build fault-tolerant, scalable products through automation and operational best practices.
Break down barriers to run products, create and enforce operations standards, and facilitate an agile and learning culture.
Collaborate across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and support stakeholders.
Debug and optimize code, automate routine tasks, and design/implement CI/CD flows and pipelines.
Work with messaging technologies (e.g., IBM MQ/Kafka/NATS) and support Kafka engineering/administration where applicable.
Requirements
Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design.
Systematic problem-solving approach, strong communication skills, sense of ownership and drive.
Ability to help debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks.
Experience in dealing with difficult situations and making decisions with a sense of urgency.
Experience in one or more of the following languages: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl or Ruby.
Interest in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
Appetite for change and pushing the boundaries of what can be done with automation.
Experience in working across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships.
Experience with industry standard CI/CD tools like Git/BitBucket, Jenkins, Maven, Artifactory, and Chef.
Experience designing and implementing an effective and efficient CI/CD flow from dev to prod with high quality and minimal manual effort.
Working knowledge of messaging technologies like IBM MQ, Kafka, NATS (Kafka engineering/administration is an added advantage).
