About the role
- Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents, including user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, and operational specifications
- Acquire subject matter expertise by conducting interviews, researching technical specifications, and observing production methods
- Develop content for print and digital publications, such as technical journals, training materials, government proposals, websites, and podcasts
- Organize and maintain cataloging systems, electronic media, and archival records for technical publications
- Oversee the preparation of illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, charts, and exhibits to support publication objectives
- Conduct quality reviews of documentation to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to industry standards
- Assist in preparing materials for technical seminars, business forums, and customer presentations
- Work collaboratively with engineering, product development, and program teams to translate complex data into clear and concise documentation
- Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with 2 - 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 0 - 2 years of experience
- Strong technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to simplify complex information for various audiences
- Experience conducting research, analyzing technical data, and developing clear, concise documentation
- Proficiency in technical writing tools and software, such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems
- Basic knowledge of graphic design principles for selecting layouts, diagrams, and illustrations to enhance technical publications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple projects and maintain accurate records
