About the role

  • Drive product specifications with government agencies to achieve profitable sales growth.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships through consultative sales.
  • Support ITS installation and maintenance contractors with training, customer service, and first-level technical support.
  • Navigate complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders and build relationships with decision makers.
  • Achieve agreed-upon sales targets and outcomes within scheduled timelines.
  • Participate in webinars, trade shows, conferences, and present to industry groups.
  • Educate consulting engineers via lunch-and-learns on wrong way vehicle detection technologies and ATMS integration.
  • Assist quoting and technical writing teams with project take-offs, bid quotations, site drawings, and engineering submittals.
  • Ensure accurate expense reporting and adherence to corporate budget; provide sales forecasts and CRM reporting.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned in the role of Business Development Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, engineering, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Proven +5 years track record of driving sales growth of technical solutions including hardware and software.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with customers and stakeholders with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong product knowledge and understand competitor positioning.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office, lead generation, and other relevant tools.
  • Exceptional oral, written, and group communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong technical acumen.
  • Sense of urgency, high energy level, integrity, and exceptional work ethics.
  • Strategic thinking, creativity, and adaptability to meet unexpected demands effectively.
  • Willingness/ability to work within the specified territory (TX, NM, AZ, AL, NV, KS, TN, LA, UT) and support field installations.
