Responsible for the entire scope of construction site activities during ITO and OTR, acting under the direction and on behalf of the project director or Project Manager
Define the site works strategy, lead the site teams, and manage execution of project scope across multiple sites
Ensure Safety, Quality, Costs and Schedule comply with contractual obligations, company policy and local regulation
Coordinate costing & scheduling of site activities during ITO; prepare tender documents; lead contracting strategy definition with support functions
Ensure consistent application of contracting strategy during OTR; manage sub-contracts and act as main commercial contact for site sub-contracts
Ensure integration of Customer EHS requirements into project procedures; responsible for planning of C&C activities within project schedule and implementation of construction management (LPS)
Manage risks and opportunities related to Construction & Commissioning; prepare staffing plan, mobilize site teams & follow up actuals vs. plan
Liaise with design office for timely issuance of data; initiate implementation of CMS & definition of TOPs with Commissioning Manager
Support project leadership during important meetings with customer; lead and manage site teams; ensure EHS leadership and application of GE GRID EHS Policy
Comply with Quality Procedures; ensure Site Works meet Customer and GE Grid standards; collect lessons learned and initiate improvement actions
Requirements
An appropriate qualification in Civil / Electrical Engineering, degree level with extensive experience would be an advantageous but equivalent experience would also be considered
Have appropriate health and safety experience, training and qualifications in line with international standards for roles of this nature
GWO certification will be an added advantage
Background in Building Services, electrical works and commissioning
Previous experience of undertaking the role of Construction Manager on a large EHV Substation Project
Construction experience in the UK would be an advantage but is not essential
Experience in the installation and commissioning of Civil Works, Building services & auxiliaries, HV & MV equipment, Control & Protection system
Knowledgeable on international standards and 'best practice' in relation to construction
Knowledgeable on environmental legislation and good industry practice in relation to construction works
Knowledgeable on the key applicable standards and specifications associated with the civil and electrical works construction applicable for countries in the region
Experience in off-shore platforms E&I works will be an added advantage
Will be required to travel frequently to various project sites across the region and to yards across the world for off-shore wind farm projects
Ability to work remotely but integrate with the GE’s wider team
Ability to communicate effectively, and to accurately and concisely report both verbally and in writing
Proficiency in ENGLISH mandatory; additional European languages advantageous
IT proficiency including collaborative platforms & tools
