About the role
- Own the resolution of post-sales technical customer issues
- Level 1,2,3 Technical Support – Resolves post sales Technical Issues
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy
- Have knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
- Use some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles
- Use technical experience and analytical thinking
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
- The following will be the main technical areas of focus and competence for support: GE Control Systems (Mark VIe/MarkVI), Operation knowledge of GE Gas turbine and steam turbine, Knowledge on HMI software like Cimplicity will be added advantage
- The following will be secondary technical areas of focus and competence for support: GE Excitation system (EX2100e/EX2100) and static stater system (LS2100e/ LS2100) GE OTArmor
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in engineering field or other technical area and 2 years in generator or turbine controls
- high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in generator or turbine controls
- Power generation experience
- Experience with GE Control System products
- Power Plant Controls Troubleshooting & Technical Support Experience
- Experience working with global teams and previous global responsibilities
- Proficiency with computer tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to proactively identify challenges, resolve effectively, and deliver results
- Effective decision making skills that leads to long term customer & business success
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to coach/mentor effectively
- Strong agent of change with focus on executing efficiently in a complex, diverse and dynamic cross-functional global matrix organization
- Demonstrated ability to drive solutions in a matrix organization and partner with a global network of stakeholders to deliver results
- Proven track record of delivering results and leading teams in a dynamic business environment
- Self-motivated, self-starter capable of remaining flexible to changing work priorities
- Strong Organizational, Analytic, and problem solving skills
