About the role
- Provide strategic legal advice to the Wind segment teams, principally in Europe
- Lead legal & compliance strategy and direction for the Wind segment in conjunction with other internal Counsels and in close coordination with the Wind segment Global Legal & Compliance team
- Manage and mitigate legal risks associated with large-scale projects, including negotiation, drafting, execution, interpretation, and review of complex agreements.
- Advise business on new, changing, and unique regulatory and compliance issues in the region.
- Support segment litigation, arbitration, mediation, and dispute resolution
- Manage outside counsel and associated spend in conjunction with the legal general and specialty practice group leaders.
- Advise on a wide range of legal matters, including but not limited to: commercial contracts, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), joint ventures, regulatory compliance, dispute resolution, and litigation.
- Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the business objectives of the Wind segment.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including finance, sourcing, business development, and operations.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and high ethical standards within the Wind segment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Qualified to practice law in Germany
- Significant experience (10+ years) as a practicing attorney, with a portion of that time spent at a top law firm.
- Proven track record of successfully managing a team in a multinational corporate setting.
- Extensive experience in complex commercial transactions and large-scale project contracts.
- Demonstrated ability to provide senior-level legal advice and counsel to executive leadership.
- Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
