About the role
- Ensure the technical consistency of the digital roadmap for smart and digital Power Transmission (PT) solutions (e.g., grid automation, digital substations, network management software platforms).
- Define and maintain reference architectures, design rules and best practices to accelerate technology adoption.
- Ensure consistency of data models, communication protocols and integration schemes across projects and products.
- Promote 'digital-native' design across all Power Transmission (PT) products, including Digital Twin.
- Support R&D and innovation projects in the domain of smart and digital grids.
- Define, develop and deliver training and coaching programs for internal teams and customers.
- Provide high-level technical support for complex cases and critical escalations (L3 expertise).
- Capture project learnings to improve methodologies, tools and technical references.
- Act as a senior technical consultant to end users and project teams for:
- Clarification of technical requirements and solution capabilities.
- Compliance with applicable standards (IEC, IEEE, Cigré, grid codes) and internal rules.
- Evaluation and approval of technical deviations.
- Support bid and project teams in defining robust, compliant and interoperable technical solutions.
- Participate in key technical reviews, risk analyses and technical meetings with customers.
- Coordinate closely with internal partner entities (engineering centers, product lines, R&D, services and commercial teams).
- Act as the technical convergence point to harmonize practices, architectures and solution positioning across regions and business lines.
- Structure and strengthen Power Transmission (PT) representation within standards bodies and professional associations (IEC, IEEE, Cigré, etc.).
- Position GE Vernova as a thought leader in the field of smart and digital grids.
Requirements
- Master's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, control/automation, digital systems or a related field.
- Significant experience (15+ years) in power transmission, network solutions and smart/digital grid environments, combining design and field experience.
- Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE and Cigré standards and practices, notably related to grid automation, protection, SCADA/control and fault phenomena.
- Demonstrated experience in system integration, interoperability and management of complex technical projects.
- Proven background as a Senior/Lead Engineer, Solution Architect, Technology Lead or Technical Manager.
- Excellent command of communication protocols and data models (e.g., IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5, DNP3, CIM).
- Experience serving on standards committees or technical working groups is a major asset.
- Excellent communication, coaching and influencing skills, comfortable in international and cross-functional environments.
- Strong customer focus, analytical mindset and ability to solve complex problems.
- Fluent English (spoken and written); proficiency in other languages is a plus.
