About the role
- Support execution of retrofit projects including installation, power up, and commissioning of Excitation control solutions, Static Starter control solutions, HMI upgrades, and TIL implementation
- Provide technical direction and guidance to craft labor in support of a power equipment outage
- Execute policy/strategy using in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking
- Propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes
- Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements
- Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or a high school diploma / GED with at least 6 years of experience in Power generation, generator controls, and or turbine controls
- advanced experience in Field Service and Technical Advising in the Power Generation Industry
- ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
- ability to travel for weeks at a time; 50% travel as required
