About the role

  • Help design proposal for a future Project Accounting organization and assess and evaluate options for the Hydro business line
  • Define Roles and Responsibilities and create an Operating mechanism for collaborating between Region Operations, BU Finance and FP&A teams
  • Lead & develop a Controllership and accounting team to simplify and create world class standard processes & policies
  • Translate concepts, develop strategy, implement change, create programs responsive to external environment
  • Oversee all financial aspects of project accounting including project setup, actuals booking, revenue recognition, manual journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Ensure financials of projects are in line with GAAP and compliant with statutory regulations & global accounting policies
  • Communicate balance sheet position to senior management on a quarterly basis
  • Partner with Functions and Cost teams on the Hydro margin review process
  • Provide internal and external audit support relating to project accounting activity
  • Champion LEAN culture, lead transformation efforts in alignment with broader finance strategy
  • Identify, recruit, grow, and retain talent with appropriate levels of expertise to deliver on the daily management

Requirements

  • Hydro accounting work experience either as a Controller, Risk Finance Leader or PFM/OTR Finance Manager
  • Team Management/leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge or experience
  • Significant years of experience in finance or operations function in progressively larger positions of responsibility, proven finance leadership experience, and Team Management
  • CSA, Projects & Upgrades accounting experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant/Chartered Accountant preferred
  • Direct or indirect leadership of global teams
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to create and execute concrete action plans
  • Demonstrated adaptability/flexibility: open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and/or ability to operate in ambiguous situations
  • Ability to partner with horizontal teams like Pole/ITR Finances, Fulfillment, Operations
  • Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Fluency in English and/or Italian required if contracted in Italy.
