About the role

  • Responsible for project delivery, profits & loss accountability and customer satisfaction on varied portfolio of the projects in the cluster.
  • Impacts project approaches for involved functions and organize the way of working.
  • Impacts quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the team.
  • Has significant input into priorities.
  • Consolidate execution summary of each PM portfolio for regular reporting to the stakeholders, guide PMs in the cluster and manage the workload.
  • Based on contract, develop and implement the overall strategy for execution of the project to achieve the project performance goals.
  • Represents GA towards internal/ external customers; controls and manages these interfaces and relationships.
  • Sets up and secures the necessary resources for project execution.
  • Regularly monitors and reports the necessary KPI for Project portfolio in the Cluster.
  • Shares lessons learned on project execution activities to the teams involved including OTR and ITO.
  • Identify and secure additional opportunities leveraging other Grid business lines, deep customer understanding and needs, and good knowledge of GA portfolio.
  • Assess the Closeout portfolio regularly, make a detailed COT execution plan, build KPI and monitor on a timely manner, and get the COT actions/strategy executed.
  • Set-up project management plan (incl. strategy) adapted to Multi-partner and Complex environment.
  • Manage the changes and adapt the objectives & strategy accordingly.
  • Organize and lead Project Gate reviews.
  • Address project management issues (roadblocks, performance, resource gaps etc...).
  • Contribute significantly to project management process improvements and delivery processes at Cluster level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management including experience in PM portfolio management, PM team leadership, and project close-out activities.
  • PMP Certification
  • A knowledge of systems integration businesses (i.e. solutions) is a must in Power, T&D industry focused on Automation, Telecom and Monitoring Systems.
  • Capabilities to define a strategy
  • Knowledge in economic performance evaluation
  • Fluency in English mandatory and Arabic
  • Ability to travel across Cluster and sub-region up to 50%
