About the role

  • Manage statutory and tax general accounting activities of the branch, including Accounts payable, Accounts receivable, Travel expenses, Banking, Payroll, Taxes, Contributions and Fixed Assets.
  • Manage and complete month end close of stat and tax accounts and books of the Company.
  • Prepare annual financial statements in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Conduct internal policies and procedures in compliance with statutory legislation.
  • Ensure accounting practices and tax calculations comply with local statutory and tax requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory and tax filings and reports (Income Tax return, VAT, WHT and other local taxes) within required by law deadlines.
  • Perform regular reconciliation of settlements with the state authorities.
  • Lead and maintain all US GAAP accounting and reporting for the Company within corporate requirements and deadlines.
  • Analyze financial results and coordinate with business managers on reporting queries and information requests.
  • Understand and prepare US GAAP to STAT differences in Stat HFM in line with GE Vernova requirements.
  • Ensure assigned account reconciliations are accurately prepared, reviewed and submitted per corporate standards.
  • Understand wing-to-wing process KPIs.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Lead and support local STAT and Tax external audits and internal process audits.
  • Support with Global or Europe regional projects and best practice sharing.
  • Drive and lead simplification process and initiatives of the Company.
  • Lead and manage external accounting/tax service providers and consultants, as applicable.
  • Support with projects and other Management tasks, including potentially accounting coverage of other countries in the region.

Requirements

  • Finance/Accounting degree or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of local GAAP and US GAAP standards/requirements and main differences
  • Work experience in US GAAP accounting and reporting.
  • Knowledge of the local stat and tax legislation, familiarity with labor and immigration legislation, and ability to work with state authorities.
  • Strong system skills (MS Office including Excel, Smartsheet, Power BI, 1C)
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate complex messages in a clear and succinct manner
  • Proactive, ability to operate effectively on own scope with no or minimal guidance.
  • Ability to challenge processes and implement improved working methods and projects.
  • Ability to look for solutions in complicated work situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure/deadlines
  • Fluent knowledge of English/Russian/Turkmen languages
  • ACCA/CPA qualification is a plus.
