About the role
- Supervise daily work of DCO Systems Technicians and ensure tasks follow established procedures
- Plan, assign, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Coordinate vendor-supported maintenance and verify work completion
- Review and validate maintenance documentation and compliance records
- Support client equipment installations to ensure compliance with Switch standards and AUP
- Manage customer access and maintenance requests through completion
- Participate in CAB processes, including ticket creation and schedule coordination
- Use CMMS and asset management systems to track maintenance, system status, and requisitions
- Support incident response, including P3 event creation and escalation coordination
- Provide direct performance feedback and coach technicians on skill development
- Support hiring coordination and onboarding of new team members
- Enforce Switch safety policies and OSHA requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements that reduce risk and improve efficiency
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 7+ years of experience in data center operations, facilities, electrical, or mechanical environments
- 5+ years of experience leading or mentoring technicians in an operational setting
- Working knowledge of data center critical infrastructure systems including UPS, generators, switchgear, ATS/STS, PDU/RPP, cooling systems, and fire suppression
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
- Experience using CMMS or similar maintenance tracking systems
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work extended hours when required in a 24/7/365 environment
- Preferred OSHA 30 certification
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical training
- Prior experience in a mission-critical data center environment
