About the role

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulations on construction sites.
  • Implement safety training programs, conduct safety audits, and ensure that all construction activities are performed in accordance with applicable safety standards.
  • Lead the development of comprehensive project plans for construction projects, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective utilization of resources throughout the construction process.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize project expenditures.
  • Negotiate contracts with construction vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure that contracts are structured to align with project requirements, timelines, and budget constraints.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, including project managers, engineers, architects, and construction workers.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork to achieve project goals.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that construction activities meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational quality guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to monitor project progress and address any deviations from quality standards.
  • Identify potential risks and challenges associated with data center construction projects and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and delays.
  • Proactively address issues as they arise to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Maintain regular communication with project stakeholders, including senior management, clients, Data Center Operations, regulatory agencies, and community representatives.
  • Provide project updates, address concerns, and solicit feedback to ensure alignment with project objectives and expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Leverage industry trends and emerging technologies to optimize project delivery and drive operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Construction Management or a related field is desired, a combination of education and work experience will also be considered in lieu of degree.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in construction field as a Construction Director, Sr Project Manager, or Project Executive.
  • Work experience in all disciplines of construction (civil, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing), preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Procore software.
  • Knowledge of CAD or CAD 3-D is desired.
  • Ability to influence and partner with executive leadership to drive strategy and execution.
  • Analyzes and resolves construction process problems and issues and effectively communicates and interfaces with all levels of personnel.
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to be dependable, consistent, diligent, and thorough.
  • Exercises creativity and resourcefulness in completing tasks accurately in a compressed timeframe.
  • Represents the company with a positive attitude internally and externally.
  • Acts in a professional manner at all times and works cohesively with all team members to maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Demonstrates clear and positive communication capabilities, both oral and written.
  • Some travel required.
