About the role
- Handle a portfolio of claims of varying severity within defined technical authority from first advice through to settlement, including, coverage review, fact investigation, loss evaluation, and designing and executing on an appropriate claim resolution strategy
- Select, direct and manage external experts and vendors, including working with them to set appropriate budgets and effectively manage costs
- Provide accurate reporting to internal stakeholders
- Deliver practical claims insights and input to internal collaborators, including underwriters, sales and risk engineering
- Keep Claim Management informed of loss potential and material claim developments, consistent with the Claim Handling Expectations and Standard Operating Procedures
Requirements
- 3+ years Claims or Insurance Industry experience working in the primary insurance market
- Ability to engage and lead external experts, including proactive cost management skills
- Solid coverage, investigation, loss evaluation and claim valuation skills
- Solid computer skills including proficiency in the use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), MS Outlook, and the use of digital tools, data platforms, and AI-enhanced systems for research and investigation
- Experience with data visualization tools and the ability to present data-driven insights to diverse stakeholders
- Solid understanding of underwriting and other insurance functions
- Familiarity with GenAI tools and data-driven decision-making.
