Own the application and technical architecture for all Specialty business applications, covering their full lifecycle from design to operations
Oversee development, maintenance, and evolution of both internal underwriting applications and externally facing solutions
Shape the Specialty business application landscape in close collaboration with Business Architecture
Design and evolve the Specialty data architecture together with P&C Re Data Architecture
Define and govern cloud-native architectures on Microsoft Azure
Ensure operational stability and resilience of the application portfolio
Actively contribute to the P&C Re Architecture chapter
Own and lead one or two cross-cutting architectural topics relevant across all P&C Re IT product areas
Foster strong, trust-based collaboration between application development teams and the Architecture function

Requirements

Extensive experience in application development and operating an application landscape at scale
Strong, hands-on background in designing and building applications using .NET
Deep experience with cloud-native infrastructure architectures for Azure-based applications
Solid hands-on experience in data modeling and data structure design, with exposure to formal Data Architecture practices
Experience with Angular is a strong plus
Practical experience with Databricks and/or Palantir Foundry is highly beneficial
A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable engineering discipline
Experience in the insurance or reinsurance industry is strongly desirable
A solid understanding of Specialty reinsurance (or the willingness and ability to acquire it quickly) is a clear differentiator.
