About the role

  • Support Canadian statutory reserving and reporting under IFRS 17, gaining exposure to industry standards
  • Assist with financial forecast modelling , Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and the ORSA process
  • Contribute to the transition and stabilization of IFRS 17, collaborating with local and global project teams across functions including Finance and IT
  • Work on diverse projects and provide support to team members as needed
  • Apply analytical skills to solve real business problems while receiving mentorship from experienced actuaries

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, with Visual Basic Programming capabilities
  • Demonstrated progress in actuarial exams
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
  • Experience with MS Access, R, Oracle or other database management tools (nice to have)
  • Previous internship experience in insurance, finance, or related fields (nice to have)
  • Knowledge of IFRS 17 concepts (nice to have)
  • Proactive learning style with intellectual curiosity (nice to have)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment (nice to have)
