About the role
- Support Canadian statutory reserving and reporting under IFRS 17, gaining exposure to industry standards
- Assist with financial forecast modelling , Financial Condition Testing (FCT) and the ORSA process
- Contribute to the transition and stabilization of IFRS 17, collaborating with local and global project teams across functions including Finance and IT
- Work on diverse projects and provide support to team members as needed
- Apply analytical skills to solve real business problems while receiving mentorship from experienced actuaries
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, with Visual Basic Programming capabilities
- Demonstrated progress in actuarial exams
- Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams
- Experience with MS Access, R, Oracle or other database management tools (nice to have)
- Previous internship experience in insurance, finance, or related fields (nice to have)
- Knowledge of IFRS 17 concepts (nice to have)
- Proactive learning style with intellectual curiosity (nice to have)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment (nice to have)
