About the role

  • Own our social strategy: translate organizational priorities into short-form content that drives engagement, fundraising, and volunteer mobilization
  • Run the day-to-day: plan, write, edit, and approve high-quality, on-brand content—and cultivate the work of other contributors
  • Manage and mentor: directly support one full-time staffer while leading external contributors across design, video, talent, and production
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: align social content with the editorial calendar and coordinate on digital campaign launches, in partnership with the Senior Director of Editorial & Digital Campaigns
  • Shape creative priorities: oversee photo, video, graphics, design, and influencer/creator work to ensure every asset is aligned with campaign and organizational goals
  • Build creator partnerships: manage influencer relationships and launch campaigns that expand our reach and impact
  • Direct the creative pipeline: ensure assets are produced fast, on brand, and at a consistently high level of quality
  • Play a lead role in rapid response: turn key political moments into powerful, real-time content across channels
  • Elevate stories: source and spotlight narratives from volunteers, campaigns, and partners to fuel content across channels
  • Track and optimize: use analytics to measure performance and evolve strategy for maximum impact
  • Stay ahead of the curve: understand the latest social media best practices, bring fresh ideas, experiment with trends, and adapt quickly to platform changes
