About the role
- Design, build, and maintain standardized base container images that service teams can extend
- Own and improve CI/CD pipelines to make them reliable, fast, and observable
- Establish best practices for Docker image layering and optimization
- Dependency management
- Build caching and reproducibility
- Partner with security teams to integrate vulnerability scanning into CI/CD
- Reduce blast radius and remediation time for CVEs
- Improve developer experience by reducing friction in builds and deployments
- Creating clear documentation and golden paths
- Act as a multiplier for engineering teams by enabling them to ship safely and confidently
- Influence architecture and tooling decisions across the platform
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in DevOps, Build Engineering, or Platform Engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS preferred)
- AWS (IAM, ECR, EC2, networking fundamentals)
- Docker and container image design
- Deep experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, etc.)
- Experience standardizing platforms across multiple teams or services
- Solid understanding of Supply chain security
- Vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Trivy, Snyk, Grype, Clair)
- SBOMs and dependency management
- Ability to balance technical depth with organizational influence
- Strong communication skills and comfort working across teams
