About the role
- Plays a critical role and is responsible for defining the product vision, strategy, and roadmap in the development of health insurance products
- Leads from product conception to launch and manages the product portfolio for continued success in the commercial employer market
- Works closely with cross-functional teams to grow existing products and bring new innovative products to market, requiring this individual to build collaborative relationships with all levels of staff, and across Sutter Health departments
- Day-to-day activities include business model development and market analyses; evaluating and implementing new laws and regulations from the Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC) related to product design and benefits, business planning and modeling; product lifecycle management; and go-to-market strategies for external engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's: Business, Finance, Health Administration or related field
- 5 years recent relevant experience
- Deep knowledge and understanding in all phases of product management from concept to launch at a health insurance / health plan company
- A proven track record of bringing innovative ideas to market
- Knowledge and understanding of understanding of product management best practices and methodologies
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to influence and inspire team members
- Ability to understand customers, deeply explore and articulate problems and solutions
- Can think strategically to set a product vision and strategy for long term growth
- Knowledge of the Northern California health care industry preferred
- Ability to convey complex technical concepts, to translate complex data into simple, written and graphic presentations, and to communicate technical issues and solutions in business terms
- Demonstrated critical thinking and quantitative and financial analysis skills
- Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet (data management, manipulation/analysis and formatting), and project management and presentation programs
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
