About the role

  • Lead the design and development of Women’s knits and soft wovens, under the direction of the Design Director.
  • Spearhead the seasonal concept process, bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the assortment that align with brand DNA and consumer expectations.
  • Analyze fashion trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscape to inform seasonal design direction.
  • Oversee fabric research and development, working with mills, vendors, and trade shows to source and innovate in knits and soft wovens.
  • Manage day-to-day product development tracking, including building and maintaining tracking charts, creating tech packs, and overseeing lab dips, strike-offs, and proto samples to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure consistency and brand integrity across product categories, from initial sketch through final garment.
  • Partner with marketing on product packaging, photo shoots, catalogs, displays, and other brand imagery.
  • Collaborate with Technical Design to ensure product fit, construction, and quality meet brand standards.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Own the Design and Product Development portion of the Development process up to the production stage.
  • Report and partner closely with the Design Director and work cross-functionally with Sales, Merchandising and Technical Design to deliver compelling seasonal assortments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of women’s design experience, with a strong emphasis on cut & sew knits
  • Additional experience in soft wovens, sleep and loungewear a plus
  • Clubs (Costco, Pricesmart etc.) experience preferred
  • Previous Product Development experience a plus
  • Proficient in PLM systems, with Centric experience strongly preferred
  • Proven experience managing, mentoring, or developing junior designers
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric development, and trend analysis
  • Excellent design and sketching skills, with proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Ability to balance creativity with commercial awareness, bringing forward innovative yet brand-right product ideas
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach, able to partner effectively across cross-functional teams and with external vendors
