About the role
- Determine strategy, resources, and budget to achieve plan objectives for the Central states GBU (IL, WI, MO, KS, MN, NE, ND, SD, LA, AR, TX, OK, CO, IN)
- Accountable for commitments, KPIs, and delivery of P&L, including NSV and DGP plan objectives
- Leads the Control States GBU, including DVP, State Managers, and local teams, to achieve maximum profitability, market share, and sales depletions
- Enterprise-wide thinking: turns analysis into planning and actions against channels and consumer opportunities
- Actively engages cross-functional stakeholders to address market opportunities and mitigate risk
- Uses tracking, reports, reviews, insights, and interaction to ensure continuous alignment of partners and team members on vision and goals for the Central Region
- Understands the attitudes and motivations of key people and addresses these in a position of influence
- Inspire, empower, and engage team members to achieve sales objectives through outlining vision aligned with teams goals and personal aspirations
- Responsible for coaching, development and succession planning
- Ensure succession planning that develops internal talent as well as actively attracts best in class external candidates
- Delivery of plan objective components including NSV, DGP, Big Bets, Pricing, and KPIs (Distribution, Display, Shelf Standards and Menus)
- Beating the Market vs. competitors as measured by NABCA or applicable measurables vs. competitive set
- Accomplishing above objectives within each state’s specific budget limitations
- Drives executional excellence and a culture of continuous improvement amongst team and broker partners
Requirements
- 15+ years in leadership roles with general management across a variety of roles within the spirits/alcohol
- Strong analytic and budget capabilities
- On and Off premise experience required
- Fluent understanding of Pricing and Programming
- Strong solution-based thinking
- Ability to run large markets and multiple markets with many variables
- People Management experience (20+ people)
- Ability to navigate, negotiate and manage conflict
- Experience successfully interacting senior leaders at the supplier and/or distributor
- Demonstrates an outward-in & enterprise-wide strategic thinking.
- Ability to plan for the long term
- Understands the components of pricing for multiple states and how to manage an A/R and P&L for multiple states.
