About the role
- Consider economic and business trends to forecast future financial results.
- Oversee income, expenses, taxes, capital expenditures, investments, and financial statements.
- Evaluate use of excess working capital, ROI and alternative cash uses.
- Gauge company financial health using key financial ratios (CAR, Combined Ratio, asset to insurance reserve ratio, Liquidity ratio).
- Determine which products/product lines generate largest portion of net profit.
- Examine and evaluate cost-efficiency of each department relative to resource consumption.
- Work with departments to prepare and consolidate budgets into overall corporate budget.
- Create, update, and maintain financial models and detailed forecasts of future operations.
- Partner with management teams on new promotions or new business to drive commercial outcomes.
- Prepare internal reports for senior management and support decision-making.
- Understand and communicate financial and operational impact of changes; suggest analytics-backed recommendations.
- Participate in implementation of approved changes.
- Create informative, actionable, repeatable reporting highlighting business trends and opportunities.
- Conduct ad hoc analyses and scenario testing to investigate operational issues and support senior management decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a Business-related field.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in Financial/ Business analysis/ Commercial analytical roles.
- Experience in the Big 4, Insurance or a multinational company is a plus.
- Advanced expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices and procedures.
- Strong initiative and logical & analytical skills with a commercial mindset.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to lead and work within a team environment.
- Detail-oriented, fast learner and committed to meeting a deadline.
- Extensive experience in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good command of both spoken and written English is required.
