About the role
- Lead an organization focused on enhancing Stop Loss Claims capabilities
- Improve the support we provide to distribution partners
- Establish the Stop Loss Claims organization’s strategic direction
- Regularly interact with senior leadership and business stakeholders
- Identify best practices and lead organizational change initiatives
- Promote superior customer service to internal and external partners
- Support new claim system development and implementation for Stop Loss
- Create and foster a team environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement
- Lead complex and strategic initiatives with traditional and agile approaches
- Translate strategies into actionable project plans and oversee their execution
- Stabilize business processes and produce streamlined documentation
- Create an efficient training and development program for staff
- Proactively identify opportunities for enhancements to processes and reporting systems
Requirements
- 5-7 years of experience leading expanded teams within medical stop loss, health insurance, workers compensation, or related industry
- 5+ years of Stop Loss product exposure and claim administration experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Proven success leading organizational change and strategic initiatives
- Superior ability to interface and build relationships with clients and internal stakeholders
- Strong business acumen
- Thorough working knowledge of Sun Life Stop Loss Claims philosophy and market trends
- Experience with project management and change management methodologies
- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, Visio and/or Project Office
