About the role
- Engineering co-op students are considered to be integral part of the Engineering staff
- provided with tasks that are both technically challenging and educationally stimulating
- assigned to teams associated with ongoing manufacturing projects
- structured co-op assignments so candidates develop the ability for increasing complexity and self-reliance
- exposed to working with engineers and plant personnel
- familiar with basic manufacturing processes
- learning plant operations and safety procedures
- introduction to Pilot lab and laboratory procedures
- initial exposure to smaller projects
- independent work on both individual and group projects
- develop an understanding of estimating project costs and calculating financial returns
- become more involved in evaluating processes and optimizing systems
