About the role

  • Join a global team focused on electric power switching, protection, and control solutions
  • Company designs, manufactures, and provides post-sales support for electric power equipment
  • Oversee day-to-day operation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting
  • Work with direct reports to determine objectives, set annual goals, and provide training and development
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reports
  • Maintain and monitor the company’s quarterly forecasting and yearly budget process
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP, ASPE, tax regulations, and internal controls
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reports, and variance analysis
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies and procedures to improve operations and efficiency
  • Manage insurance administration and claims
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Accounting team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insight for decision-making
  • Develop and maintain a robust internal control framework
  • Work with external auditors for year-end closing and reporting
  • Support workflow process improvement and special projects within Finance
  • Lead or support ERP upgrades, automation initiatives, or digital transformation projects within Finance
  • Hybrid work arrangement with 2 days work from home per week

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • CPA is preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory experience
  • Experience with AR, AP, Capex, and General Accounting in medium to large manufacturing companies
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Oracle ERP)
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools like Advanced Excel, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices (Canadian GAAP, ASPE)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
