About the role
- Overseeing all welcome meetings and community groups held by the PCC
- Booking rooms, organizing and training community group facilitators, and promoting meeting times and locations of all groups
- Responsible for maintaining confidentiality of all individuals accessing the PCC, and peer support services
- Continuing knowledge of topics related to the position
- Expected to interact closely with groups of students and volunteers
- Responsible for planning, creating, and standardizing creative sessions for support group programming
- Working with the Director to supervise facilitators for welcome meetings
- Completing space bookings, EOHSS forms, and other logistical duties in conjunction with the PCC Director
- Collecting feedback on the community groups, from both group facilitators and attendees, and make changes accordingly
- Works with Promotions Coordinator to ensure that relevant information is properly circulated to relevant communities
- Develop a budget for support group programming alongside the PCC Director
Requirements
- Prior experience attending or planning leadership conferences or workshops is an asset
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- One-on-one communication skills is an asset
- Organizational and time management skills
- Strong Interpersonal skills required for conflict resolution and mediation
- Being aware of LGBTQ2SI+ and mental health resources on and off campus
- An understanding of Safe(r) Spaces
- Ability to coordinate and lead a team of volunteers to ensure successful completion of tasks
- In depth understanding of current LGBTQ2SI+ and equity-related issues
- Ability to open dialogue on LGBTQ2SI+ issues and to facilitate group discussions
