About the role
- Identify gaps in our current systems, policies and strategies, and recommend enhancements and process improvements
- Work to scope out, prioritize, coordinate, and launch the initiatives that are most critical to Stripe in support of minimizing credit losses while providing positive user experience
- Create short-term and long-term project plans, including setting milestones, ensuring adherence to deadlines and efficiently allocating resources
- Design and implement processes that help scale our risk management practices within Stripe and operate at pace
- Facilitate decisions and actions, while making certain that ‘risk and reward’ trade offs are at the core of our decision-making process
- Hold a broader viewpoint by balancing multiple perspectives across the team, understanding other initiatives that are running parallel and ensuring proper overlap and communication between projects
Requirements
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in program management, strategy & operations or similar functions, driving complex and cross-functional initiatives (e.g. structuring programs, managing stakeholders, setting milestones, and executing at scale)
- 3+ years of experience in foundational risk management (e.g., credit, fraud, liquidity or market risk), treasury finance, or finance & strategy roles
- Experience quickly building strong, collaborative relationships with partners across technical and non-technical functions, such as Strategy, Partnerships, Product, Operations, and Engineering
- Critical and first principles thinking (e.g., ability to question how we are working rather than simply executing), and the ability to zoom out to the most important questions
- Strong analytical skills and a rigorous, data-driven approach to problem-solving
- Self-starter who can work independently and execute on complex projects with minimal guidance
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
