About the role

  • Infrastructure operation: Ensure a stable and secure IT operation of the infrastructure (servers, storage, virtualization), as well as continuous system updates and patch management.
  • Second-level support: Take responsibility for second-level support for complex incidents, including structured root-cause analysis and sustainable problem resolution within the business unit.
  • Automation & documentation: Automate recurring tasks (e.g., using PowerShell) and maintain clear documentation of configurations, standards, and processes.
  • Security & compliance: Implement IT security and compliance requirements, including vulnerability management and administration of access control/authorization concepts.
  • Project support & architecture: Actively participate in infrastructure projects (e.g., Exchange/M365 migrations, storage upgrades) and support strategic architecture decisions.
  • Certificate management (PKI): Comprehensive management of certificates and certification authorities — from issuance and system integration to proactive monitoring of certificate lifecycles.

Requirements

  • Relevant professional experience operating Windows infrastructures, including Active Directory/Azure AD, DNS/DHCP, and GPOs
  • Solid knowledge of virtualization (e.g., VMware), storage, networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, VLAN, routing, firewalling) and monitoring
  • Hands-on experience in automation and scripting (PowerShell), and proficient use of ticketing and ITSM systems (Incident/Change/Problem management)
  • Sense of responsibility and service orientation — you remain calm, solution-focused and reliable even in critical situations
  • Team player with clear communication — you explain complex issues understandably and work in a structured way
  • Business-fluent German and good English
  • Advantageous: M365/Exchange certifications, experience with endpoint management (e.g., Intune, ACMP), email security gateways, backup (e.g., Synology), and basic Linux knowledge
