About the role

  • Support Network Expansion & New Site Launches
  • Embed at new or expanding fulfillment sites to support launch readiness, go-live execution, and post-launch ramp-up.
  • Partner with site leadership to ensure core processes, systems, and operating rhythms are in place before and after go-live.
  • Provide on-site support during critical launch and ramp periods to stabilize performance and reduce risk.
  • Develop and Enable Operations Leaders
  • Onboard and coach new Operations Managers and frontline leaders through hands-on training, shadowing, and real-time feedback.
  • Model strong floor leadership by running shifts, leading stand-ups, and managing day-to-day execution when needed.
  • Act as an interim Operations Manager during site openings, leadership transitions, or short-term coverage gaps.
  • Drive Consistent Execution
  • Lead by example in executing Stord’s standard processes across inbound, outbound, inventory, quality, and labor planning.
  • Reinforce daily execution discipline and ensure alignment to operational KPIs and expectations.
  • Identify gaps in execution and partner with site leaders to address issues quickly and practically.
  • Standardize and Improve
  • Develop, refine, and deploy SOPs and training materials based on real-world site learnings.
  • Support process improvements that drive consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency across the network.
  • Ensure updates to systems, processes, or tools are reflected in training and on-site execution.
  • Communicate Progress and Drive Accountability
  • Track leader progress during onboarding and ramp-up and provide clear feedback to site and regional leadership.
  • Compile site performance recaps and ramp-up updates, including key risks, wins, and next actions.
  • Document visit outcomes and ensure clear handoffs and follow-ups after leaving a site.
  • Build Culture and Leadership Presence
  • Foster a strong culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement through daily floor presence.
  • Lead through influence, observation, and coaching rather than policy alone.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a high-volume warehouse, fulfillment, or eCommerce environment.
  • Previous experience as an Operations Manager or Senior Operations leader with direct reports.
  • Strong track record of training, coaching, and developing warehouse leadership teams.
  • Experience leading large hourly teams (60+ associates) and multiple salaried leaders.
  • Working knowledge of WMS systems, RF scanning, and warehouse execution tools.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Google Suite, and basic operational reporting.
  • Clear communicator who can influence across levels and functions.
  • Hands-on, problem-solving mindset with a bias toward action.
  • Comfort working in a distribution center environment with physical activity and non-standard hours.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and peak schedules during launches or ramp-ups.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience.
