About the role
- Interact with internal and external customers on a technical and programme level.
- Develop suitable new methodologies and conduct CFD analyses at a consistently high standard.
- Quickly acclimatise to current projects/programmes and progress ongoing tasks with existing methodologies.
- Preparation, presentation of technical reports and proposals.
- Support the preparation of project management planning documentation including quality and technical plans.
- Maintain the project documentation in accordance with the company’s Quality Management System.
- Manage multiple tasks and deliver within agreed timescales.
- Interact with other engineers and customers on a technical and project level.
Requirements
- Candidates will ideally be degree qualified (or equivalent), in a related discipline.
- Experienced in aircraft OML design activities (within industry).
- Highly proficient in CFD modelling with ANSYS toolsets including SPACECLAIM, DISCOVERY and FLUENT.
- Steady and unsteady external aerodynamic flows of civil and/or military aircraft.
- Extensive hands‑on experience working in low‑speed, subsonic, and transonic regimes, including performance optimisation.
- Self-motivated, professional candidate with the ability to proactively problem-solve independently.
- An ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Working efficiently and accurately, with attention to detail and the discipline to self-check results.
- Good interpersonal skills, including a professional approach when dealing with internal and external customers.
- The confidence and desire to gain a full understanding of issues.
- Good organisational skills, including record keeping.
- Able to act in a customer facing position.
- Familiarity with requirements, generation and use of aerodynamic CFD data for certification purposes (desired).
- Experience in analysis of aircraft performance, stability and control, flight dynamics would be beneficial (desired).
- Programming language experience in use of HPC and automation of ANSYS CFD tasks is desirable (desired).
