About the role
- Responsible for the overall plant, administration and transportation operations
- Ensure all regulatory compliance and safety issues are addressed
- Ensure location meets or exceeds its goals pertaining to safety and regulatory compliance, staying within budgeted costs
- Oversees operations staff to train and develop an efficient and diverse workforce
- Ensure that operational and customer related functions are completed timely and accurately
- Review and monitor payroll registers and monitor expenses for unexpected changes
- Ensure delivery of services through transportation and customer service functions to enhance customer loyalty
- Works with the Compliance team to ensure the permits for the facilities are current and being followed correctly
Requirements
- Bachelors or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in Logistics/Regulated Waste/Recycling/Plant Processing Operations
- 3+ years of management experience
- Demonstrates the ability to lead a team of employees to achieve safety, financial and customer service results through building a culture of excellence
- Demonstrates knowledge and the ability to stay abreast of applicable regulations and codes, as they apply to the waste industry and those specific to area of responsibility
- Demonstrates the ability to manage within an established budget as well as strong knowledge of budgetary processes, P&L statements, asset management, and project management
- Demonstrates sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to input, monitor and manipulate data within these applications
- Demonstrates a general understanding and knowledge of electrical distribution, steam generation, hydraulics, material handling concepts, and other general mechanical equipment
