About the role

  • Provide timely and effective technical support to customers via Zendesk, email, phone, and remote sessions
  • Perform software installation and upgrade as well as replication configuration and tuning
  • Troubleshoot data replication issues and provide solutions to customers
  • Play the DBA role for internal dev environments that include Db2, Oracle, Databricks, Big Query, Snowflake, Confluent, etc.
  • Develop and maintain technical expertise in our data replication product and related technologies
  • Document customer issues and solutions in our internal knowledge base
  • Be available for occasional as-needed on-call support

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in database administration including installation and configuration, performance tuning, backup and recovery and troubleshooting for relational databases such as Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL.
  • 2+ years of experience with big data and data warehouses technologies such as Microsoft Fabric's Lakehouse, Databricks, Kafka, Snowflake, Big Query, etc.
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, and routing, with hands-on experience troubleshooting connectivity issues in complex hybrid (on-prem/cloud) environments.
  • Proficiency using diagnostic tools like Wireshark, traceroute, netstat, and cloud-native monitoring (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Network Watcher) to analyze connectivity and protocol behavior (TCP/IP, SSL/TLS) impacting replication stability and throughput
  • Skilled at identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks in data replication workflows caused by network issues such as latency, packet loss, or SSL/VPN misconfigurations—both in customer on-premises and cloud-hosted environments (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • Familiarity with Linux and Windows Server environments
