Backend Engineer

• Drive end-to-end development of backend services and APIs that support the Stellar ecosystem.
• Build, maintain, and scale reliable infrastructure and web services in support of mission-critical applications.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to understand developer or end-user needs and translate them into pragmatic solutions.
• Optimize backend systems for performance, scale, and maintainability.
• Contribute to our open-source efforts, including SDKs, libraries, and tools.
• Engage in architectural design discussions, write detailed technical specifications (RFCs), and contribute to SDF’s engineering best practices.
• Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing across teams.

Senior Backend Engineer

Developer Relations

• Build and maintain the SDK for application developers to complement the Rust SDK, wrapping our JSON-RPC API.
• Build the "developer daily driver," including CLI tooling for contract deployment, a reliable web faucet, and a web block explorer UI.
• Write and maintain the "Getting Started" guide, API documentation, and realistic example applications to ensure new developers can deploy within 30 minutes.
• Serve as the first point of contact for partner developers during the private testnet, translating their feedback directly into SDK and tooling improvements.

Software Engineer, Developer Experience, SDKs

• Design and build the JSON-RPC endpoints that external tools, SDKs, and wallets use to communicate with the core network (transaction submission, status queries, account state).
• Own the full path from client to consensus and back. Status tracking, error reporting, and timeout handling.
• Build the data backend that powers the block explorer, partner integrations, and historical state queries.
• Build out analytics pipelines (e.g., BigQuery population) and implement robust metrics and event logging using tools like Prometheus, Clickhouse, and Sentry.
• Work across service boundaries, getting comfortable reading code in components you don't own to understand how they behave.

Backend Engineer – Integrations, APIs

• Public API Layer: Design and build the JSON-RPC endpoints that external tools, SDKs, and wallets use to communicate with the core network (transaction submission, status queries, account state).
• Transaction Lifecycle: Own the full path from client to consensus and back. Status tracking, error reporting, and timeout handling.
• Indexer & Query Backend: Build the data backend that powers the block explorer, partner integrations, and historical state queries.
• Data & Observability: Build out analytics pipelines (e.g., BigQuery population) and implement robust metrics and event logging using tools like Prometheus, Clickhouse, and Sentry.
• Cross-Functional Impact: Work across service boundaries, getting comfortable reading code in components you don't own to understand how they behave.

General Counsel

• Provide corporate/corporate governance counsel:
• - Entity Management: Oversee the legal lifecycle of the Foundation and its subsidiaries, ensuring all corporate filings, registrations, and "good standing" requirements are met across all operating jurisdictions.
• - Corporate Secretarial Duties: Help to maintain official corporate records and serve as an internal governance resource.
• Provide regulatory strategy and advice:
• - Regulatory Analysis: Assist as an internal subject matter expert on the evolving global legal status of blockchain, tokenization, digital assets and decentralized finance.
• - Interpretive Guidance: Provide high-level legal interpretations of new guidance, interpretation, rules and legislation that impact the Stellar ecosystem’s long-term viability.
• - Precedent Monitoring: Track and analyze litigation and enforcement actions within the broader blockchain industry to identify emerging legal risks or shifts in "Control" and "Decentralization" definitions.

Corporate Counsel, Regulatory

Counsel, Corporate and Regulatory

Solutions Engineer

• Own and continuously refine Stellar’s Solutions Engineering program, including engagement models, partner tiering, and escalation paths.
• Build, manage, mentor, and grow a team of Solutions Architects and Solutions Engineers, composed of both in-house team members and certified external collaborators.
• Lead end-to-end technical partner engagements, from early discovery and solution design through production launch and ongoing support.
• Serve as a senior technical escalation point for high-tiered partners, engaging directly when integrations require deeper architectural guidance or cross-functional coordination.
• Provide hands-on architectural leadership, including:
• Guiding system and integration design for complex or non-standard use cases.
• Reviewing proposed architectures and technical trade-offs.
• Helping derisk integrations through design reviews, targeted prototyping, or technical deep dives.
• Set and uphold a high technical quality bar for enterprise integrations, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, maintainable, and future-proof.
• Collaborate closely with the Product and Engineering teams to surface recurring partner needs and tooling gaps, and inform roadmap prioritization based on real-world enterprise usage.
• Design and scale repeatable engagement models, including partner tiering, SLAs, documentation standards, and feedback loops that allow the program to scale without sacrificing quality.
• Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, and certification program for solutions engineers, both internally and across the Stellar partner ecosystem.
• Represent SDF in strategic partner conversations, deep technical reviews, and selective onsite engagements with enterprise partners.
• Continuously improve the Solutions Engineering program based on learnings from live integrations, postmortems, and evolving partner needs.
