About the role
- Provide administrative oversight and evaluation across all construction disciplines.
- Review construction activities for compliance with contract documents, codes, and VA standards.
- Analyze contractor work to identify deficiencies, inconsistencies, and non-conforming conditions.
- Support preparation and review of construction documents, plans, and specifications.
- Monitor project budgets, obligations, and expenditures.
- Review contractor pay applications and validate progress against completed work.
- Assist with preparation, evaluation, and documentation of change orders and cost proposals.
- Maintain and review project schedules, identifying risks and delays.
- Track progress against milestones and recommend corrective actions.
- Support schedule coordination between stakeholders and contractors.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and logs.
- Track project correspondence, records, and contractual documentation.
- Support preparation of reports for leadership and contracting personnel.
- Participate in and support weekly progress meetings with stakeholders.
- Coordinate communication between contractors, government personnel, and project teams.
- Assist in resolving project issues and facilitating alignment across all parties.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
- Track deficiencies and ensure timely resolution.
- Support testing and inspection processes across multiple construction disciplines.
- Evaluate construction impacts on active medical center operations.
- Support phasing plans to maintain patient care, safety, and facility operations.
- Identify risks related to safety, access, utilities, and environmental conditions.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship required (clearance process)
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation and obtain VA PIV badge
- Minimum of three (3) years of construction experience or equivalent education/experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting construction administration activities (RFIs, submittals, change orders, documentation)
- Working knowledge of construction practices, QA/QC, scheduling, and cost control
- Experience reviewing contractor work and identifying deficiencies relative to construction documents
- Strong communication, coordination, and documentation skills
